New Opportunity with a leading insurer, where by the successful candidate will report into the Syndicate Accounting Manager, and will be responsible for the production, maintenance, reconciliation and analysis of the accounting ledger for the three managed Lloyd’s syndicates, managing agent and corporate member. Additionally, the candidate will be involved in some key Finance projects such as IFRS 17 and other adhoc projects when required. They will work closely with different areas of the business such as Regulatory Reporting, Solvency II, Actuarial, Claims, Group Finance, Treasury and Investments, as well as all business units using syndicate capacity. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: • Manage all aspects of the production of the three Syndicate accounting ledgers, the ledger for the managing Agent and corporate member, through to the month end, quarter end and year end GL Close. • Ensuring all technical balance sheet and control account reconciliations are prepared and reflect true analysis on the differences if any. • Ensuring all non-technical balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and required follow-up steps are taken for resolving the differences. • Assist Syndicate Accounting Manager in ledger review and related close activities. • Performing P&L and BS analytics and commentary and supporting Syndicate reporting team in resolving ledger related queries. • Build relationship with the auditors ensuring audit queries are answered and closed off in a timely manner. • Own and close queries from Group Finance, Syndicate Reporting and Audit teams. • Ensure effective financial control framework is in place and is operating effectively. Timely updating the control framework or introducing new controls where required for the process changes. • Build relationships with stakeholders in Group finance, Actuarial, Syndicate reporting, IT functions to improve the quality of information reported both internally within the group and externally to Lloyd’s Too succeed in this role, you will be to have/be: • Be a qualified accountant with experience of Syndicate Accounting • Educated to degree level. • Have good working knowledge of Insurance Accounting • Strong Excel skills • Excellent attention to detail whilst working with high volumes of data • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Self-motivated working as a team and individually.
