One of the world’s largest insurers is currently seeking an experienced sanctions and Financial Crime person from Insurance to join their London team. The role will business partner with the manager of the Financial Crime team to provide support to the Head of Financial crime.

Joining an established team within a wider compliance function it will be expected that you build relationships with key stakeholders within the business – provide advice accordingly with the overall goal of streamlining processes and mitigating the risk and exposure of the business.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Providing sanctions support and guidance to all entities and branches of the company
  • To support the Senior Compliance Manager, Financial Crime in respect of ensuring that the business are supported to assist with compliance with all aspects of sanctions
  • An ability to read, analyse and summarise key applicable legislation and regulations
  • An ability to apply key sanctions and other financial crime legislation and regulations in a financial services environment
  • An understanding of the legal and regulatory framework relating to sanctions, particularly OFAC, HMT, UN, and EU
  • An ability to conduct desk top investigations and enhanced due diligence checks, using a variety of tools, liaising externally with third parties where necessary, to fully understand sanctions and other financial crime issues and potential breaches
  • An ability to produce clear, concise and commercially applicable guidance, reports and advice for review by all tiers of management
  • An ability to design content and where appropriate deliver training and presentations on sanctions and financial crime matters to employees at all levels within the organisation


  • Previous Insurance experience / understanding is a must given the nature of the role, 3 years +
  • Related degree or professional qualifications would be advantageous
  • Strong business partner ability
  • Strong Excel and ability to manage M.I data
