New role at one of the world’s leading international insurers and reinsurers, with offers to a range of insurance products from the standard suite of property, casualty and motor to the specialist financial lines, marine and energy. The role involves assisting with accounting and reporting activities, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of underlying data, and to liaise with external and internal customers to formulate and implement policy. Key responsibilities & accountabilities: • Assist with monthly reporting of the expenses position across EO to various audiences including the EMB and Group • Perform analysis and investigation into variances and prepare supporting commentary • Assist with the financial planning and reforecasting processes, including supporting the allocation of expenses to divisions • Act as point of liaison between the on-shore expenses team and the offshore GSSC team • Support the process of recharging costs to the company and be proactive in driving improvements in this process • Provide finance business partnering support to one or more support functions, ensuring key stakeholders understand how they are tracking against agreed expense plans and supporting the preparation of financial plans for future periods • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders, both within and beyond Finance (including at Group) and acted as a trusted advisor to the business on finance matters • Support the implementation of the Finance Transformation Programmed within the team and drive ongoing improvements in reporting and processes Qualifications & experience: • Be a qualified accountant (for example ACA, ACCA or CIMA) • Have excellent knowledge of relevant current statutory, legal and regulatory accounting requirements • Have an in depth understanding of best practice accounting and expense processes • Have excellent Knowledge of relevant accounting software and tools • Be confident building controls into processes • Be confident working with and presenting management information
